NOTICES. WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE OP INTENTION TO STRIKE RATE. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waipawa County Council at a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Waipawa, on FRIDAY, the 4th day of August, 1916, to make and levy under the provisions of “The Rating Act, 1908 ’ ’ and Section 117 of '“The Counties Act, 1908” and the several amendments thereof, respectively, the undermentioned rates within the respective Ridings of the County of Waipawa, such rates to be for the period commencing on the first day of July, 1916, and ending on the thirtieth day of June, 1917, and to be payable in one sum at the County Office, Waipawa, on the first day of September, 1916: A general rate on ONE PENNY in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Waipawa, Hampden, Wakaraka, Ruataniwha and Takapau Ridings. A general rate of ONE PENNY and ONE-EIGHTH of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Onga and Clinton Ridings. A special rate of ONE-SEVEN-TEENTH of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Takapau-Kopua road loan special rating area No. 1 Interest Account. A special rate of SEVENTWELFTHS of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Argyll Water-race special rating area, No. 2 Interest Account. A special rate of FIVE-THIR-TEENTHS of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Forest Gate Water-race special rating area, No. 3 Interest Account. Special rates of SEVENTWELFTHS of a penny in the £; id in the £; and ONE-TWELFTH of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable properties of the Lindsay Water-race special rating area, Nos. 4,8, and 10 Interest Accounts respectively. A special rate of ONE-THIRD of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of Hickey’s road loan special rating area, No. 5 Interest Account. Special rates of SEVEN-TWEN-TIETHS of a penny in the £; NINETWENTIETHS of a penny in the £; and ONE-TWENTY-FIRST of a penny in the £ respectively on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ashcott Water-race special rating area Nos. 6,9, and 11 Interest Accounts. A special rate of ONE PENNY and ONE TWENTY-FIFTH of a penny in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Te Aute College road loan special rating area, Nos. 14 and 15 Interest Accounts respectively. Notice is hereby also given that the Valuation Roll is now open for public inspection, without fee, at the County Office, Waipawa. Dated this 18th day of July, 1916. N. V. Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Waipawa County Council held on FRIDAY, the 7th day of July, 1916, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on FRIDAY, the 4th day of August, 1916, at the Council Chambers:— RESOLUTION. 1 ‘ That in pursuance and exercise of the “Counties Act, 1908,” the “Rating Act, 1908,” the “Water Supply Act, 1908,” and the amendments thereof respectively, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf the Waipawa Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows: — “For the purpose of providing for the maintenance of the Lindsay Water-race the said Council hereby makes and levies a separate rate of one penny and one-third of a penny (1 l-3d) in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Lindsay Water-race Special Rating District.” “For the purpose of providing for the maintenance of the Argyll Water-race the said Council hereby makes and levies a separate rate of one penny (Id) in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Argyll Water-race Special Rating District.” “For the purpose of providing for the maintenance of the Forest Gate Water-race the said Council hereby makes and levies a special | rate of three farthings (id) in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable property of the Forest Gate Waterrace Special Rating District. ’ ’ Such rates to be for the period commencing on the first day of July, 1916, and ending on the 30th day of June, 1917, and to be payable in one sum at the County Office, Waipawa, on the first day of September, 1916.
