NATIONAL SERVICE LEAGUE.

VISIT OF THE ORGANISER. Mr F. Norris, lion, organising secretary of the National Service League, is visiting the district with the object of enlisting the sympathy and cooperation of the people, more especially the children, in forwarding the aims of the League. He addressed the school children and Boy Scouts, and was listened to most attentively. The following is the programme of the League:— 1. To impress the children to honor our brave New Zealand boys, and especially the disabled men. 2. That on the return of our men, they shall be given preference for light work, and all employers having this class of work arc requested to write the Discharged Soldiers’ Department, Wellington, 3. That the public do not start to talk war to our returned men unless they start; they wish to forget tlieir experiences. 4. That ladies and others look in at the homes where the man’s away and give a cheer up to the old folk. 5. That people do not give returned men money, which is the main cause of breeding impostors, the men’s worst enemy. 6. That disabled men be taught trades, or helped in small businesses, so they oan help themselves and the public buy from them. 7. That the men on sick leave and other returned men be entertained as much as possible. 8. That goods from tho enemies’ country are not to be purchased for four years,
