PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr A. Wilkins, manager of the Waipawa Gasworks, has resigned lib position. Mr L. McKay is at present on a visit to Gisborne on Land Board business. Mr J. IT. Sheath has been re-elected chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board. Private W. Vesty, of Tikokino, who has been invalided home, arrived in Waipawa by the mail train last evening. • At the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Hospital Board at Danncvirki on Thursday Mr Bickford was reelected chairman. Corporal T. Colquhoun, of the Army Service Corps, and Gunner A. Peters, of the Artillery, who are on their final leave, leave by the mail train on Monday on their return to camp. The Rev. J. D. Smith left to-day for Woodvilie, where lie is to conduct the anniversary services of the Presbyterian Church to-morrow. The local services will be taken by Mi Mill, missionary, of Wellington. At the Napier Working Men’s Club on Thursday night Mr Hector Kelsall, who has been a steward at the institution for 21 years, was the recipient of a purse of sovereigns from the members. Mr Kelsall was born and educated in Waipawa. Feeling reference was made at the monthly meeting of the Education Board on Thursday to the loss the cause of education had sustained by the death of Mr J. D. Watson, and the secretary was instructed to forward a letter of condolence to the widow.
