I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that a Poll ol the Ratepayers of the Borough of Waipawa, will be taken on WEDNESDAY, April 26tb, 1911, on the proposal of the Waipawa Borough Oounoil to borrow the sum of £2600 (two thousand fire hundred pounds) for providing additional pumping power for water supply purposes, vide loan proposal published in Waipawa Mail on April Bth, 1911. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given of the following resolution whioh was passed by the Waipawa County Oounoil on the 10th day of April, 1911. “ That in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in ‘ The Water Supply Aot, 1908/ the Waipawa County Council resolves as follows : “ Whereas a majority of the ratepayers supplied by the Ashoott water-race has signed a requisition, requesting the Waipawa County Council to appoint Messrs J. B. A’Deane, A. W. Cook, S. J. W. Gill, N. H. Beamish and R. Kirk as Managing Ratepayers of the said Asheott water-race, now the Waipawa County Counoil doth hereby appoint the aforesaid J. B. A’Daane, A. W. Cook, S. J. W. Gill, N. H. Beamish and R. Kirk as Managing Ratepayers of the said Ashoott water-race, such Managing Ratepayers to have the following powers of management now possessed by the Waipawa County Council conferred upon them, viz : (1) To enter upon any lands and roads in the Ashoott water-race district through, over, or along whioh the Ashoott water-race is constructed, inspect such race on euoh lands, and cleanse, repair and maintain such race and all works connected therewith respectively. (2) To stop the flow of water in the Asheott water race for the purpose of cleansing, repairing, altering, enlarging or extending such waterrace, or for auy other purpose the Managing Ratepayers deem cooes* Bary or proper. (3) To stop or reduoe or alternate the flow of water in the Asheott waterrace, and control and manage the said race iD such manner as the said Managing Ratepayers Bhall deem host adapted for the purpose of ..providing a supply of water. Provided always that the work of cleansing, repairing, altering, enlarging or extending suoh race shall first be authorised by a majority of the aforesaid Managing Ratepayers and the vouchers for suoh works shall be duly certified for payment by two Managing Ratepayers duly appointed for that purpose by a majority of suoh Managing Ratepayers. Provided further that the Managing Ratepayers hereby appointed shall not at any time authorise auy work in oonneotion with the cleaning, repairing, altering, enlarging or extending of such water-race which together will exceed a sum of £IOO in aoy one year. And public notice ib hereby also given that the said resolution will bo submitted to a meeting of the Waipawa County Council to be hold at the County Office, Waipawa, on the Bth day of May, 1911, for confirmation as a speoial order. THE FISHING SEASON will open on OCTOBER Ist, 1910, for all rivers within the district, and will close on APRIL 30th, 1911. Licenses can be obtained at all Money Order Post-offices within the Hawko’s Bay, Waipawa and Patangata Counties, also from Messrs J. R. Ross and Co., Napier; Mr A. H. Hill and Mr O. T. Wilson, Dannevirke ; Mr F. M, Kenney, Woodville; Mr R. R. Groom, Ormondville ; Mr J. Chilwell, Waipukurau ; and Mr A. Hyde, Hastings. The Sooioty will give the Bum of £2 2s, in addition to half the fine, to any one giving evidence enabling a conviction to be recorded against any person fishing without a license or out of season. C.
