Samoa papers, referring to the visit of German warships, state that on March 20th Vioe-Admiral Coerper and his ohief of staff attended a fono held by the Governor for the Samoans. The VioeAdmiral took the opportunity to infoim the natives of the object of his visit and explained that he was sent by the Kaiser with powerful ships to protect loyal and friendly Samoans, but he would not hesitate to use arms against those who opposed the orders of the Government with rebellious intent.
