Waipawa Road Board.

The Waipawa Road Board met on Thursday afternoon. Present Messrs MoGreevy (chairman), W. H. Rathbone, Lee and Butler. This being the first meeting after the death'of the late W. Rathbone, the clerk was instructed to write a letter of condolence. Several formal letters and oircular correspondence were received. The ratepayers’ roll was signed and the clerk was reappointed returning officer. The acceptance of a tender was approved and the work is nearly finished. It was resolved to respectfully request the Waipawa County Council to put in hand the works indicated ifi the overseer’s report, viz, the drainage of the main road in Richmond Park. Re the new Abbotsford road, the North Ruataniwha Road Board is to be asked to reply to this Board’s letter of 3rd September, 1904. Also to inform the Board that a committee has been set up to meet and discuss the question. It was resolved that the new road as recently planned by Mr H. Baker be adopted. The pay-sheet was read and passed. Further particulars are requested by the Board from the Chairman, Waipawa School Committee, with regard to a grant in aid for a class in woodwork.
