Waipawa Road Board.
The Waipawa Road Board met to-day. Present :—Messrs S. M‘Greevy (chairman), E. H. Lee and Thos. Butler. clerk stated there was a credit balance of £Bl Is lid.
The pay sheet £9 lie fid was passed for payment. The chairman’s report on work done on Ireland’s roadand Richmond Park was approved. Correspondence was received from the Waipawa County Council referring to footpath.—To stand over. As regards the Great North Road it was resolved that a reply be sent to the Waipawa Council that what the Board desires is that the Council make provision for carrying the water off the main road by its natural course, by Messrs Sebley’s and McGreevy’s farms, or by such other ways and means as will obviate the necessity of keeping so many open drains on the main road.
Resolved that Mr S. McGreevy be authorised to interview the Lands aud Survey Office, Napier, and obtain tracing of The Brow road through Abbotsford run, with authority to take legal advice at Napier. Resolved that the chairman and Mr Lee sign rate book when completed. The chairman gave notice of motion that at the next meeting of the Board a general rate of $d in the £ be made. The chairman’s declaration re rates collected was taken and the meeting closed.
A petition was presented by some Argyll settlers re road extension.—l was ruled informal as the signatures had not been witnessed.
