(Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Sports Club was held on Wednesday night. Mr G. Staunton occupied the chair. The statement of accounts, showing a credit balance of £l6 15s 4d, was read and adopted. It was decided to hold the annual meeting, consisting of Gymkana sports, on Boxing Day, instead of New Year’s Day as hitherto. The following office-bearers were elected : President, Mr H. H. Bridge; vicepresidents, Messrs J. B. A’Deane, F. Herrick, J. Pettit, W. W. Hirst, J. B. Rhodes, and C. Hall, M.H.R.; committee, Messrs L. M‘Kay (chairman), G. Staunton, J. Carver, W. Coles, William Pettit, Walter Pettit, R. Staunton, A. Grant, E. Wilson, A. Rood, J. M‘Leod, C. Beachen, S. Walker and S. Coles. Messrs R. Staunton and H. Whyte were appointed to wait on Mr Hall, M.H.R., when in Waipawa, and interview him in regard to induoing the Government to set aside the racecourse on the Forest Gate estate for the use of the township.
