A sharp shook of earthquake was experienced at ten minutes past 3 o’clock, this afternoon. Wo hear that Mr Ingleton will open a clothing and outfitting business in Waipnwa, under the title of J. Ingleton and Co The firm have secured premises adjoining the Commercial Hotel. A shipment of 1000 head of cattle was recently made from New South Wales to Beira, South Africa. On arrival at their destination, no forage was provided, and the cattle were turned out on green pasture, with the result, bo it is stated, that all but three died. It is stated that the shipment was oue of Mr Khodee’ ventures.
