Presentation.
On Thursday night the Loyal Abbotsford Lodge of Oddfellows entertained P.M. Bro. W. J. Standley at a social in the lodgeroom. A number of visitors were present and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Selections were contributed by the Waipawa band, many excellent songs were sung, and several toasts were honored. During the evening P.P.G.M. Bro. A. E. Jull, on behalf of the lodge, presented Bro. Standley with a P.M’s. apron and a purple sash, as tokens of the esteem in which he was held by the members of the lodge, who regretted his departure from Waipawa. Bro. Jull in an eulogistic speech referred to the interest their departing brother had taken in Oddfellowslnp, and the able manner in which he had filled the various chairs in the lodge. He carried with him the good wishes of the Order, who trusted health and fortune would smilo upon him in the Old Country. Mr Standley’s health was then drunk with musical honors and that gentleman feelingly responded. The gathering then sang “Auld Lang Syne.”
