Roberts’ Early Advance.
Boer Rearguard Retreating. Dalgety’s Resistance. (Received 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, April 30. The hospital at Capetown is being cleared with a view of Lord Robert*’ early advance. The operations of the cavalr, art slowly compelling the strong Boer rearguard, which is stubbornly defending the steep hills north of Thabanchu, to retreat northwards, where most of the guns and baggage have been withdrawn. General Dalgety, with 1700 men at Wepener, resisted 8000 Boers for 17 days, heavily shelled throughout, losing 30 killed and 150 wounded. •
