[to the editor.] Sir, — I notice by Saturday’s issue you t Kaikora correspondent states he w* misinformed in stating the Teachen’ Institute had taken steps in Min Stewart’s assault case. I beg to stat* that the Institute was prepared to stand by Miss Stewart, and any proceeding! taken by her were sanctioned by th« Institute.—l am, &c., R. B. Holmes, Hon. Sec.
