REGULATIONS. Nominations with full names, colours, and performances for last two years, together with fees, must be in the hands of the Secretary befere 7pm on FRIDAY, 15th January, 1897. Handicaps declared on TUESDAY, 19th January, 1897, in Waipawa Mail. Acceptances close on FRIDAY, the 29th January, 1897. Competitors must run with the numbers, for which a deposit of 6d must be made to Secretary, same to be forfeited if number is not returned fire minutes after each event. Numbers for the Makaretu Handicap may be worn throughout and returned after final. All protests to be accompanied by the sum of ss, to be entered not later than 15 minutes after event iu dispute. Deposit to be estreated if protest considered frivolous. Decision of stewards in all cases to be final. The Stewards reserve the right to call on any competitor to make a declaration as to his performances. The Handicappers reserve the right to call on any competitor in Race 3 to show school certificate of age. General entries olose on the ground 20 minutes before each event.
