PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME. H.B. CALEDONIAN ANNUAL GATHERING Will take plac: on the Napier recreation GROUND On Wednesday, January 27, 1897. GAMES WILL COMMENCE AT 11 A.M. SHARP. VALUE OF PRIZES IN CASH AND TROPHIES, OVER £IBO. The Caledonian Handicap will be rnn in Three Distances—looyds, 220yds, and 440yds—with Ist, 2nd, and 3rd Prizes of (Cash and Trophies) £4, £2, and £1 for each distance. Points will count for the aggregate as follows First 6, Second 3, Third 2. Aggregate of prizes—First aggregate, £5 aud Gold Medal; Second, £5 ; Third, £4. Nomination 6s, acceptance 4s. A Gold Medal, value £5 6s, will be presented by the H.B. Highland Society; particulars as to award will be announced at a later date. Total Value of Caledonian Handicap, £4O.
