FIRE AT TE AUTE.
RAILWAY STATION AND REFRESH MENT ROOMS DESTROYED.
Tho Te Ante railway station and refreshment rooms were totally destroyed by fire at 4 o’clock this morning. Nothing was saved from either builliog. The fire was discovered by a little boy named Hammondseo, who lives olose by. He gave the alarm, but nothing could be done to save either the buildings or the contents. Mr Pickeriag, the lessee of the refreshment rooms, left the place at 6 45 last night, when everything was apparently safe. The origin of tbe fire is unkoown, bat it is believed to have started in the refresh meat rooms. The stock ia the refreshment rooms was insured for £IOO in the P/ ce lix Office. Mr Pickering estimates that his loss, over the insurance, will be £IOO No further paiticnlars are to hand at the time of going to press
