(OWN CORRESPONDENT) Th« adjourned meeting of the Takapu Road Board was hold to-day. The bus* neas was to consider a drainage scheme for the township. Tho Board visited various parts of the township, and it wai decided that the chairman and tbs . -ngineer hold a consultation at an earl; convenient date. The surface water os the town allotments is a nuisance, and this has boon aggravated by damming the water back by moans of footpatbi. No doubt the nuisance will soon be I thing of the past. I notice that another injustice has been done to Waipukurau. Poor Waipukorao! It is not enough that she gets credit fa her full quantum of fevers, etc., bat l correspondent of your contemporary (tbs 1113. Herald ), after making a person*! visitation and with his customary gravity, informs the public that nearly eveff house in Waipukurau has influenzi! H is to be hoped the h.maes do not suffer * mu.ill as persons suffer when prostrated by this malady. However, having * definitely and surely diagnosed th* disease, it would ba a fitting compliment to ask him to prescribe for its treatment.
