The Knights of Labor meeting passed resolutions urging the Government to bring in a Bill to compel local bodicß to pay a living wage in all their contracts ; urging the establishment of a national system of fire insurance and a national paper currency ; that it wonld bo an unwise policy to borrow money for the purpose of carrying on any large scheme of publio works ; that the Government bo requested to amend the present Alcoholic Liquors Bill so as to repeal the clause requiring half of those whose names appear on the roll to vote before effect can be given ; to retaining the clause on reference to the three-fifths vote ; that the Minister of Education be asked to prohibit married women whose husbands are in a position to support them from teaohiug in public schools. Several resolutions were also passed in reference to co-operative works.
