Harbor Board and the City Council, qurring whether these bodies still in their objection to tbe constructiou of ■ railway goo le ebed at the Te Aro end of the city and the consequent reolamatioi from the harbor of the land required l m tbe same. The letter states that the Go. vernment still consider that euch a station is required in order to render the extsto sion of the railway to Te Aro of tbe fulls, use to tbe large population at the eoutbe-c end of tbe city, aod the Under Secretary 18 instructed to point out that tbe proseco tion of the work would afford employment for a considerable number of men aod would also lead largely to relieve the co t . gestion at present existing in tbe labor market of the city.
