(Per Press Association.) Wellington, Yesterday Tho hands at the pilot station report that a large bargue was seen on Friday making south, and by 1 o’clock she was out of si .lit. The northerly gale was then moderating, but a few hours later there came fierce southerly weather, and there was no chance of the barque, which would meet the full fury of tho storm, getting back into tho Strait. The pilot crew went out this morning to search the coast from Poncarrovv towards Baring Heads. Later The pilot crew returned this morning having made a thorough search along tho beach from Poncarrow Head to Pailiser Bay for wre< kuge from the barque Evelyn. They found a couple of lifobeUs aod a watertight tank evidently part of a lifeboat ; also a portion of cabin fittings. One of the lifebelts presented tho appearance of having boon on some one.
