There was a large attendance to-day at the opening of the ram fair at Hastings. To-day was occupied with sales of stud eheep. The fair iB expected to close tomorrow.
The Australians won the cricket match against Lord Sheffield’s team by 74 runs. The Englishmen scored 156 in their second innings. The third test match will be played at Adelaide. Mr Turnbull, as Trust Commissioner, to-day announced his decision re the disputed leases of native interests in Te Dhu Block. He certified to Dr Mirbach’s lease, and refused to certify to the lease to Guy and Mathews.
