It was St. Malo, not Torpedo, who was short in weight in the Welter yesterday. The latter, therefore, secures second money. January Handicap.—Regina, 1 ; Weka, 2 ; Torpedo, 3. All started. A grand race, won by a neck. Time, lmin 59£soc. Dividend, £l2. Hurdles.— Magpie, 1 ; Rough, 2 ; General Gordon, 3. All started. A grand race, a neck separating the placed horses. Time, 3min 26sec. Dividend, £5 14s. The stewards will hold an enquiry this afternoon into Magpie’s running to-day and yesterday. Racing Club Handicap.—Cruchfield, 1 ; Huerfana, 2 ; Ranee Nuna, 3. Crown Jewel scratched. Won by a length. Time, 2min. 13secs. 2-sths. Dividend, £4 6s.
