The Firewood Trade.

Makotuku, This day. A meeting of those interested in the firewood trade was held atjtbe Beaconsfield Hotel, Makolnku at 1 p.m. Thirty portoas were present. Mr Packer was in the chair,, The delegates reported that|they had interviewed the wood dealers, and all agree to raise the price 2s per cord. It was decided not to include Messrs Nelson Bros, in the rise. Mr Russell and Mr Baines have made a general rise of 12s a cord in all outß.'de orders taken. Those present gave in tbe amount of orders in hand, amounting to 220 cords. Malamau, Danevirke, Kopua, and Takapau were unrepresented.
