Makotuku. We have permission from the County Council in

writing granting us the concession, but as a matter of form or business, and in respect to yourselves as a body we further ask your consent. Wo may state that the work will be carried out under supervision of the County Engineer. TJ»e line laid out will be as close to the fence line of the railway reserve as possible and will thus not interfere with any of the business people occupying business sites of the road. I It was proposed by Mr Stephetfbon and geconded by Mr Codiin, that the Board has [no objection to the tram being laid ? but the board will not hold themselves liable through same.—Carried. t Mr W. Howes asking the Board to do something towards the improvement of the public road lending to the grave -pit jon his section. If the Town Board would contribute half the costs he had no doubt the road board would do tlie same, as it wa« a benefit to both of them. Ordered to stand over. From Messrs R. Russell and J. W. Andrews applying for the office of clerk to the Board. It was resolved to let the appointment itand over and that applications for the office be held open till the next monthly meeting. Mr Leach, the present clerk was asked to continue his duties for that period which he consented to do. Messrs Codlin and Stephenson were instructed to make arrangements re office. From Mr R. Russell to the following effect:— “I, Robert Russell, of Makotuku, hereby object to a tramway being laid in front of my bouse and will hold the Ormondville Town Board responsible for iny injury to me or inino through said tramway. The committee appointed to report on the approaches to the railway station idvised delaying the matter for the time being. , The clerk was instructed to consult the golicitor re rating. The Board then adjourned.
