This is a sign that owners of race horses are not to be influenced l>y the jealousy which others have endeavoured to create, and that they look upon the Waipawa County Racing Club still as the premier country club to hold a meeting on New Year’s day. It is satisfactory to think that the shabby attempt of the new town club to usurp our rights line not come off. The Woodville Jockey club find it advisable to race under the Metropolitan rules, and their programme is slightly altered to-day to enable them to do so. This is a wise step, and we have no doubt it will bear fruit.
