WAIPAWA FIRE BRIGADE.

[TO the editor.] Sir, —After the great fire it was considered a certainty that something would now bo done to form a fire brigade, but so fains I have heard no action has yet been taken. I think we want Dr Ox to come here to try his experiment of charging the air with oxygen. Oxygen is so scarce in Waipawa air that the inhabitants get so sleepy that they cannot be roused up, not even with a fire brand. Let us by all means have a public meeting to receive names of volunteers ; also, to appoint a committee to arrange for a concert, collect funds, &c. The Brigade could be made a very pleasant club, or mutual improvement association, and I would further suggest that the meeting bo held under the auspices of the Waipawa Town Board. —I am, &c., Wake Ur.
