The body of Mrs Rayner was exhumed under the supervision of Sergeant Price last night, when it was found that the body was intact. It is now thought that tie hand might he that of Israel Bassendale who was drowned in the Ruamahanga and buried in Masterton on the 14th December, being the day . n which Howard is said to have left Masterton. It is understood that the necessary authority to exhume the body has been applied for Mr Buchanan addressed his constituents at Carterton last night He was well received, and was accorded a vote of thanks aud confidence.
