W ELLINGTON, April 25. Mr Maxwell, general manager of N.Z. railways, who handed in liis resignation some months ago, has now asked to bo allowed to withdraw it, and it is under stood the request Inis been granted. In response to a request from tho City Council, tho Governor has consented to throw open tho Government house and grounds to the public on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.
