Jess, a pure-bred Clydesdale mare,. who for three years in succession was distinguished as the first prize-taker at the Campbelltown Agricultural Society’s Shows ; her dam also gained four first prizes in succession as a brood mare at the same Society’s Show. Sir Garibaldi was awarded the premium of £4O to serve in the G.aithonse of Keet District in 1850 ; in 1857, £3O for Carlisle; in 1858, £4O for Dumfermline ; and he was afterwards sold to serve in the Campbelltown Agricultural Society’s District ; Sir Garibaldi is by Garibaldi,.who gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Perth Highland Society’s meeting in 1850. Lord Lome, as a two year-old, distinguished. himself as a prize-taker, having taken first prize at Kirkintullocii Show ; third at the* Glasgow Agricultural Society’s Show ; third at the Highland Society’s Show at Kelso ; and first at *he Devmin Society’s Show. As a three-year-old (and shown soon afte r landing in. New Zealand) was second to Prince Charlie at the Christchurch Show (the largest in the colony). As a five-year-old, first prize at the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show. As a six-year-old, second at the Wanganui Show (being beaten only by the invincihl Lofty, who has never been beaten in a show ground), and in 1878 at Wanganui, second to Lofty, and first prize and champion at the RangiiikeiManawatu Agricultural, and Pastoral Society’s Show. Lord Lome is a beautiful dapple bay, with black points, splendid action, fine bone, good .'mild temper, and possessing all the qualifications of a pure-bred Clydesdale Terms : £5 5s for single mares; two or more, £4 4s each. Sir Chillies is by the celebrated horse Prince Charlie, a horse that was never beaten on this side of the line. More of his progeny have turned out prizetakers than of any other, horse ever in the colony. Sir Charles is out of the celebrated imported mare Lady, by Lord Egliuton (imported), out of tin imported mure. Sir Charles has been shown four times, and carried off first honors wherever shown. He has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock speak for themselves. He is thoroughly staunch and quiet in harness. Terms, £5 5s ; two or more mares as per agreement.. Groomage, ss, to be paid at first sei vice. First-class paddocks, with plenty of water provided. All care taken but no responsibility. Mares to be paid for when stinted,.due j notice of which will be given.. After I notice, a charge of 2s Gd will be made | for grazing. All marcs left at Mr Pettit’s, Waipawa, or Mr McKenzie’s, To Ante, will be forwarded to the horse free of charge. Sir Charles will travel through Waipawa to Waipukurau every Friday during the season, returning to Kaikora on Saturdays. All mares missing this season will be served free next year.
