Interesting to Sheep Farmers. —lt is said that some German chemists have discovered that if chloride of potassium is administered to sheep the growth of the wool will be promoted. Experiments in the use of it are in progress. Narrow Escape. The Wanganui Chronicle of a recent date Rays : — As the train was approaching the Ingestre Street crossing yesterday morning, the driver espied a little child standing on the rails He immediately applied the ..brake, but before the engine was pulled up, it had reached a distance of some thirty yards beyond the crossing. Hurrying back to pick up, as lie imagined, the mangled and lifeless body of the child, he, to his unutterable surprise, found the little fellow quietly seated on the edge of the cattlestop, unhurt, and apparently utterly unconscious of having been in any danger.
