THE “SEEDMAN” RECEIVED THE LETTER
If you do not know the correct address I ,' but you can remember the town, or the street, then draw a plan. That’s wliat a New Plymouth resident did when lie wanted to send a letter to the Cambridge firm of Clark & Sons, Ltd. The letter was addressed as follows; "The Proprietor, Seedman’s Shop.” Then under these two lines was the plan. It indicated Duke Street, Victoria and even Empire Streets, though, of course, the name of these streets were not remeifibered. Duke street was indicated and the direction by an arrow at one end of the plan and the word, “Rotorua”,Clark & Sons Ltd., was indicated on the plan with a "X” in a three-sided box. •On the left side of this- was the word. “Hardware,” indicating the F.A.C. dept., and on the other “Auction Mart,” indicating Mr Ces. Williams’ premises. • - It was obvious that the writer had passed through Cambridge, had been interested in Clark & Sons Ltd.; could not remember the firm’s name, but had this idea of its location. It was, of course, easy for the experienced hands at the local Post Office.
