Show Has Almost the Same Officers as 16 Years Ago.

"It> is very pleasing to be back among so many of my old friends,"* said Mr Frank Penn, of Auckland, and formerly of Cambridge, when he was called upon to speak at the completion of judging at the Daffodil Show on Friday afternoon. Mr Penn raised some smiles when he remarked that practically all the officers connected with the show were the same as when he left Cambridge 16 years ago. He expressed his pleasure at seeing the society still making progress. The manner in which horticulture was being taken up right throughout the Auckland Province was very gratifying added Mr Penn. Societies were flourishing and the .shows, which did so much in encouraging the growing of flowers, were being well supported. ..Mr Penn commended, too, the association of the churches with so many flower shows, and he concluded by reciting an appropriate hymn.
