CAMBRIDGE ROTARY

LOCAL MEMBERS' TALKS VISITOFIU. PRESIDENT There was a large attendance of members and several visitors at the weekly meeting of the Cambridge Rotary Club last Thursday evening, the president, Mr Frank T. Ray, was in the chair. Amon the visitors was Mr Jim Oliver, Dominion organiser for the O. & G. Appeal. It was reported that at least 14 members would travel to Rotorua on Saturday next to take part in ■ the Rotorua Club's welcome and entertainment of the Rotary International President, S. Kendrick Guernsey and his wife of Jacksonville, Florida. The Cambridge members are pleased that the International President will find time to make a brief stop in Cambridge on Sunday next. He will be welcomed at a morning, tea at the home of the local president. , Most interesting and educative talks were given by two members of the club, Mr Neville Sanderson spoke on "The Mechanical Age," and his references to some of the gigantic engineering undertakings of the world were of great' interest. Mr Colin Clark's talk on "The Milling and the Value of Stock Foods," was most informatiye and he demonstrated that he has a considerable knowledge of this important industry. Mr Clark described the large mill that is operated by Messrs Clark & Sons, and he pointed out the vital importance to producing stock of a.balanced feed ration. Mr Clark considers there is quite a bright future for the milling of cattle foodstuffs in Cambridge.

The speakers were accorded a very hearty vote of thanks at the hands of Mr N. R. Sputer, who emphasised the value of members. getting to know better the industry of their fellow citizens.
