The Mayor of Cambridge on Road to Recovery

“MR Moore has now got his feet on the road to recovery, and he "may be up next week,” stated the DeputyMayor, Mr Mervyn Wells at Wednesday night's meeting of the borough council, when referring to the absence of the Mayor, Mr Walter Moore, who was injured several weeks ago when the ladder on which he was working at his home slipped and he fell on to the concrete path. The council instructed Mr Wells to convey to His Worship best wishes for a speedy recovery. * * * * MISS Rosemary Garland, of Epsom, r who has been staying with Mrs .Robert Miller, Maungatautari, has returned home. ■ # :• 4 •• * i MRS J. Dunlop, of Vogeltown, New Plymouth, is visiting relatives in Cambridge.

M R Frank Penn, of Remuera, and

formerly a well-known resident of Cambridge, is a visitor to Cambridge today and is judging the narcissi section at the Daffodil Society's Show in the Town- Hall. # * * * MESSRS W. R. Garrard, S. Lewis and A. N„ de L. Willis were appointed at Wednesday night’s council meeting to represent the Cambridge Borough at a confence next Tuesday, called by the Mayor of Hamilton to discuss the proposed Karapiro Lake Domain. The same councillors will attend a meeting in Hamilton earlier , the same day. *## . * Alison Simpson, daughter of Mr R. Simpson, of Hamilton Road, who has been teaching at the Winton High 'School for the past j three years, has been transferred to Te Awamutu College, and commenced her duties there this week.
