NEW INSTRUMENTS

FOR CAMBRIDGE BAND PUBLIC MEETING ON TUESDAY The Cambridge Mupnicipal Band is badly in jieecl.of new instruments and the position is so acute that if the local band is to take part in the South Auckland contest to be held next Easter-—and possibly at Cambridge—then it will have to have new instruments or borrow from other bands. On Tuesday evening next, as advertised, a public meeting will be held to consider the whole matter, for the band is nearly as badly off for uniforms.

At a meeting of the band committee last night, the secretary, Mr A. K. Fletcher, avised that all sports bodies and societies had been adyised of the meeting. They are asked to note that the venue of the meeting has now been changed and will be in the Town Hall supper room. The committee is hopeful that there will be a representative attendance so that the matter may be fully discussed as to the best time to hold a fund-raising campaign and the character of same.
