SOCIAL JOTTINGS

WEDDING. I FISHER—BORGHESE. The marriage of Yolanda Borghese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs L. Borghese, of Trieste, Italy, to Colin Muir Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs A. M. Fisher, of “Rowallan,” Pukerimu, Cambridge, recently took place at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, Cambridge. Bowls of pink and white camellias and spindleberry had been prettily arranged in the church where Rev. Colin MacKenzie performed the ceremony, and Mrs A. F. Hewitt, of Buckland was the organist. The bride, who entered the church with Mr S. Friend, of Wanganui, looked charming in full skirted gown of deep parchment shaded cloque, fashioned with a fitting bodice, and long sleeves tapering to a point over the hands. Her richly embroidered veil, was caught by two camellias on each side of her head, and she carried a lovely bouquet of cream camellias, and roses, with touches of luculia.

In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Nolene Fisher, sister of the bridegrom, whose gown of dusky pink cloque, featured petal shaped sleeves, with fitting bodice and a very full skirt. From a wreath of dusky pink rosebuds and luculia, her veil of pink tulle fell to shoulder length, and her bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums, carnations, interspersed with sprigs of blue ageratum. Mr Bert Foster, of Fencourt, was best man, and Mr Roger Ray carried out the duty of usher at the church. A reception was held later at the home of Mrs F. W. Finley, Grosvenor 'Street, where the tables had been attractively arranged with pale pink and blue flowers. To receive her guests, Mrs A. M. Fisher wore a model saxe blue suit relieved with a shoulder spray of red roses. Assisting her was Mrs S. Friend, in a navy and white check suit with spray of pink carnations.

When Mr and Mrs C. M. Fisher left on their honeymoon, the bride looked very smart, wearing a tailored cinnamon brown suit with shoulder spray of orchids, and fawn accessories.

DOMAIN CROQUET CLUB “500” AFTERNOON Mrs 0. E. Gane, Princes Street, was hostess for the Domain Croquet Club’s “500” afternoon last week, and all the ladies who went along, certainly enjoyed themselves very much. The lovely big room was warmed by two fires and decorated with Autumn leaves and berries. Mrs Gane received her guests wearing a smart black afternoon frock with touches of white.

The end of play found Mrs P. Skousgaard and Mrs M. Wright each with 11 .games to their credit, but third time was lucky in the cut for Mrs Skousgaard who carried home first prize, while for the consolation prize, Mrs E. Archer won the decision first cut from Mrs C. E. Hargraves. Mrs E. Pearce’s vote of thanks to the president was heartily endorsed by those present who were: Mesdames Walter Moore, W. Maberly, G. Goodwin, H. Williams, W. J. Ward, C. E. Hargraves, E. Pearce, M. Wright, G. Hicks, W. Wilkinson, C. McLarnon, M. Hall, H. Bellamy, A. C. Wallis, J. White, A. MacKenzie, P. Skousgaard, W. J. White, F.
