KEEP NEW COMMITTEE BUSY * OVER 1000 TRANSFERS DESIRED The Hamilton Land Sales Committee met in Cambridge on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mr S. Lewis, of Cambridge. The Land Sales Court under Mr Justice Finlay will sit in Hamilton from October 15 to October 18. New Committee Justified. That the Government’s decision to appoint a second Land Sales Committee for the Auckland district was justified is shown by the great amount of work undertaken by .he Hamilton Land Sales Committee since it commenced functioning on July 23. Over 1000 applications have been received to date. In addition the new committee received as a legacy from the older committee 516 applications, including some that required a good deal of investigation. To-day only 65 of these cases ha«e yet to be dealt with. During September the Hamilton committee disposed of applications concerning 75 farms and 278 other matters such as house property, a total of 353.. Applications -received from July 23 up to Friday last totalled 973, and by the morning the number had passed the 1000 mark. The committee during September dealt with 340 eases, including 46 farms. To date it has dealt with 592 applications out of 973, and has given decisions respecting 1043 applications including those taken over from the Auckland committee. The total applications to date concerning farms are 368, and of these 224 have been dealt with. Applications concerning other properties are 1121, and of these 819 have been dealt with. .
