MILITARY WEDDING BUCKINGHAM—WHITE St. Audmv’s Anglican Church was the scene of a pretty wedding when Joy Pauline, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wilfred White, was married to Raeburn George Buckingham, son of Mrs Gunn, of Cambridge. The Rev. Canon C. W. Chandler officiated and' Mr R. Boyce presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a model two-piece frock of dusty pink. An effective contrast was achieved with a navy model hat and accessories, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink asters, delphiniums, and maidenhair fern.

She was attended by Miss Laura Macintosh who wore a model frock of mauve figured silk crepe, and carried a bouquet of mauve asters and asparagus fern. A model hat of navy blue completed the ensemble. Mr Allen Buckingham carried out the duties of best man, with Mr Lies Buckingham as usher. After the ceremony a reception was held at thle home of the bride’s parents in Victoria Road, and the guests were received by Mrs White, assisted by Mrs Gunn. Mrs White chose an appliqued model frock of navy and white, with matching hat, while Mrs Gunn was attired in a model frock of black, ainid wore a black hat. Shoulder sprays were worn by both ladies. For her travelling suit, the bride chose a costume of egg-shell blue with white accessories were worn.

Giving my family cornflakes for lunch recently, nearly five-year-old daughter picks up a spoonful and says: “Here goes the shavings.”—“A Reader.”
