ANOTHER BURGLARY

CLARK & SONS' PREMISES SAFE REMOVED Sometime on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday morning thieves broke into the premises of Messrs Clark and Sons, removed a small safe from the manager's office, conveyed it to a spot on the old disused Karapiro Hill road, now on the farm of Mr Davis, of the Karapiro Works, and made an unsuccessful attempt to blow it open. Before leaving the premises they robbed the s(oreman's till !of about £4 and took about £6 in petty cash from the office. The thief, or thieves, gained entrance to the premises by forcing open a rear door. With visions, no doubt, of a haul from the safe, they in what is considered a cheeky manner mounted the safe on a hand barrow and conveyed it to Karapiro. Had the thieves succeeded in opening the safe all they would have got for their trouble, would have been a few documents of no value to them. The burglary' was noticed on Saturday morning by Mr Stan. Hall, the storeman and the police were notified. Associated with the local police was Detective W. R. Murray, ,of Hamilton. The safe was located at Karapiro by Mr George Petersen and another man who was coming to work. Another Entry The bnrslarv at Clark and Sons follows breaking and entering of the Power Board buildings the previous week-end. A thief or thieves forced the front door of the buildings and madie a search of the upstairs' portion, and ransacked Mr A. A. Lockett's dental rooms. They were unsuccessful in their obvious search for money.
