Stating “that it is strange, that no lember of the brigade will live on lie station, and that hundreds ’ould be glad of it for a home.” *et me tell “Citizen,” that all the lembers of the brigade live in declt homes, and, as 1 said before, no ne can blame them for refusing ) live there. We have heard a lot bout slums lately, and f claim rat as a living quarters, the old ation would make a Jirst-class urn. I am disappointed that “Citim” would even suggest such conations. I As for the value and loss by lire of the plant and equipment, every one knows that the whole of fire loss is not recovered from insurance, and that aspect is not everything. The major problem would be to replace equipment to-day owing to shortages. Fire lighting equipment is very hard to procure.
