UNPROGRESSIVENESS OF CAMBRIDGE.

(To The Editor) Sir, —I read with interest “Citizen’s” article on the unprogressiveness of Cambridge. May I suggest that the newly elected Borough Council pays a visit to Tauranga; for a tour of inspection of that delightful and progressive town, to enable them to get a few ideas on, e.g., street lighting, naming of streets, slab-concrete footpaths, avenues beautifuly laid out in lawns, tries and shrubs, and up-to-date rest rooms for pakelia ,and Maori, to mention only a few. This has been achieved by a town generally recognised as being so cut off, and unlike Cambridge, not surrounded by such rich farm lands. — I am, etc., “Newcomer.”
