LIBERTY LOAN
CAMPAIGN IN CAMBRIDGE
• MEETING NEXT MONDAY The Cambridge district has not yet got into its stride in regard to contributions to the new Liberty Loan, but arrangements are being made to tackle this matter in the same whole-hearted manner with which every other war effort has been handled in this district. Members of the Cambridge National Savings Committee have been asked to co-operate in the campaign, and a meeting has been arranged to be held next Monday afternoon. At Matamata the Women’s War Service Auxiliary is planning to “ invade” that town next Wednesday with the idea of bringing before the smaller investor the 24/- for £1 scrip. This example might well be followed in Cambridge. There should be in the district many larger investors who deal in three or four figure totals. With their assistance it is hoped that in the near future sales, will swell to fairly big proportions. For the medium investor there is script as low, as £lO, and multiples of ten, so that every section of the community is given every opportunity to subscribe to the Liberty Loan which lubricates the financial machine behind the 140,000 lighting pien raised by this Dominion to assist the Allied Nations in this grim struggle for truth, liberty, and justice. A series of special announcements, ‘strikingly illustrated, commence in to-day’s issue of the “ Independent,” and will continue f6r the next fortnight.
