* FRIDAY May 15— : Allied bombers have made an* other successful raid on Eabaul, in New' Britain. * * * Russia has successfully launched a full-scale offensive in the Ukraine. In tw r o days’ fighting the Russians have destroyed or damaged 150 enemy tanks, captured much booty, and taken many prisoners. SATURDAY May 16— Soviet naval units and aircraft in the Barents Sea sank an 8000ton enemy transport and a destroyer, and inflicted severe damage on another destroyer. SUNDAY May 17— Russian air and tank offensive has resulted in the capture of Ivremona on the railway line from Leningrad to Dno,-north-w'est of Volkhor. The Germans are throwing reserves into the fighting at Kharkov in an attempt to stem the Russian advance.
