FIRST ROUND

The first round of this competition was played on Saturday. There wa s only one surprise when K. L. Wilkinson was eliminated by T. Kane. Wilkinson has not yet struck form this season. The results were as follows: — R. Ireland beat W. H. Cubis, 4 and 3; R. H. Feisst beat A. Webster, 5 and 3; V. C. Hollis iyeat J. Jamieson, 4 and 3; E. J. F. Kesnedy beat R. Bell, 6 and 5; C. H, White beat I. Fairbrother, 2 and 1; J. W. Jeans beat A. Wilkinson, 2 up; E. Nickle won from D. L. Falls by default; T. Kane beat K. L. Wilkinson, 3 and 2; C. G. Vosper won from W. L. Edwards by default; A. H. Nicoll beast H. C. Jonasson, 4 and 3; M. Wells beat L. Webber, 2 and 1; H. Hawke won from A. Turnbull by default.
