AFTER TRAINING
RELEASE OF TERRITORIALS
MAINTAINING PRODUCTION
Support was forthcoming from the Waitomo County Council at its last meeting for the following resolution from the Inglewood County Council:
“ That because of the fact that the manpower position was likely to upset the whole economic structure* s 6f the country, af|er adequate training territorials Should be released, wih full military equipment, for civilian duties, they to be incorporated in a snecial militia attached; to the Home Guard- fqr compulsory training. Adeauate mobile forced would, of course, be kept fully ma-1 bilised. . A councillor remarked that there were great possibilities in the releasing of men in seasonal .occupations, such as shearers and freezing workers. the council" - ' decided to give Tull support to the resolution providing that the efficiency of the army \yas looked upon as of the first importance.
