PURCHASED FOR CAMBRIDGE DISPOSAL AT TAKANINI At the annual sale of Mr A. E. Watkin’s “ 0.K.” Jersey Stud at Takanini, Cambridge breeders were prominent among the bidders. Prices ranged up to 155 guineas for bulls by Lobelia Palatine Sultan (imp.), and heifers by Ivondale Heather Lad and O.K. Challenge Boy, reached 574 guineas, averaging 35 guineas. The following four animals were purchased by Cambridge buyers : O.K. Stately Flower, by O.K. Everlasting Son (son of Meadowvale Everlasting, c.o.r. 827 lbs fat), from O.K. Heather Flower by Ivondale Heather Lad.

O.Kfpure Gold by O.K. Challenge Boy from O.K. Perfection’s Treasure (c.o.r. (525 lbs fat). Both purchased by Mr W. A. Wright.

O.K. Silky Girl by Ivondale Heather Lad (son of Ivondale Tiny Heather, c.o.r. 10(51 lbs fat), from O.K. Silky’s Challenge by Lord Alden’s Challenge (imp.), from Oaklands Silky (c.o.r. 595 lbs fat at 2 years and sold for 175 guineas). Purchased bv Mr Davis Hills. O.K. Choice Lassie by O.K. Challenge Boy (son of Challenger’s Miss May, c.o.r. 520 lbs fat), from O.K. Combination Choice, c.o.r. 481 lbs fat, by Oxford Beau’s Combination, (imp). Purchased by Mr C. H. White. All of these outstanding heifers are in calf to sons of Lobelia Palatine Sultan, (imp.), considered by leading judges to be one of the best bulls in the Southern Hemisphere and whose dam, You’ll Do’s Lobelia, was travelled all over America to demonstrate the model type and sold for 5,000 dollars.
