BELIEF OF DISTRESS
THE CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT FEW DEMANDS UPON FUNDS ; There were few calls for the relief* of distress in Cambridge last year and' as a result the committee niot very active, stated the report presented at the annual meeting bf the Cambridge District Relief Committee, at which the Mayor, Mr Edgar James, presided. • Expenditure for the relief of distress during the past twelve months amounted to £65 4/4. A regular contribution of £ll was received from the monthly art unions, arid at the end of April last, the credit at the bank amounted to £BB 11/5. The election of officers resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr Edgar* James; secretary, Miss K. Ibbotson; treasurer, Mr Frank T. Ray; committee, the Revs! G. 11. Goodman, C. W. Chandler and H. W.
