RACES ALTERED

WAIKATO HUNT MEETING SIX FURLONG SPRING IF AT TE RAPA There is every probability of the Waikato Hunt Races being held at Te Rapa on Labour Day, owing to the Cambridge course being used as a military training ground. If the Te Rapa course is used, the distances of several of the races will be altered. Instead of being Gi furlongs, the concluding event, the Bollard Memorial Handicap will be the true sprint distance of six furlongs. This should result in a very large field, as there are a great many sprinters in the Waikato at the present time. The Bardowie Hack Handicap will be reduced from 6-j furlongs to six furlongs, and the Bruntwood Hack Handicap will be increased by half a furlong to seven furlongs. The first race will start at 11.30 a.m., and the last race at 4.45 p.m., which is a quarter of an hour earlier than when the meeting is held at Cambridge.
