GOLFERS FAREWELLED

MR AND MRS F. C. ROGERS DEPARTURE FOR WELLINGTON Mr F. C. Rogers left Cambridge on Sunday night for Wellington, where he has been transferred to the Courtney Place branch of the Bank of New South Wales. Several farewells were arranged for Mr and Mrs Rogers last week, although Mr Rogers' transfer was at short notice. At the golf-house on Saturday, the president, Mr A. H. Nicoll, regretted that the club was losing two strong members. Mr Rogers had been a very unselfish member of the club, said Mr Nicoll. He had always been eager to assist in the running of the club to ensure the happiness of other members.

A presentation of a golf bag was made to Mr Rogers, who expressed appreciation of the gesture and referred to the many happy hours he and Mrs Rogers had spent on the links.

On Sunday Mr Rogers was further farewelled by a number of members of the Golf Club, who had been unable to attend on Saturday. They intimated to Mr Rogers that they would provide a small engraved plate to be attached to the presentation golf bag. Mr Rogers came to Cambridge in July, 1935, having previously been associated with, the Bank of New South Wales at Waverley, Wellington, Napier and Gisborne.
