GOODS FOR SOLDIERS
EXCLUSION OF CIGARETTES A request to the public not to include cigarettes or tobacco in any form in parcels sent to members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in Egypt has been made by the Postmaster-General and Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones. The Minister s v alfr he regretted the need for placing any restriction on the contents of parcels for our, soldiers, but the restriction was necessary in the interests of the soldiers themselves, who, according to advice just Received from Major-Gen-eral F&perg in Egypt, -were requirtjd;to'pay high rates of duty on cigar£tte> and tobacco, even when include^inppst parcels. .
