XXII. COMER, Benjamin. Among the early Pukekura settlers was Benjamin/Comer, who was born in Somerset in 1830. While still in his early twenties, he went out to the Australian goldfields. He remained there for eight years, and in jls(>o,, came to New Zealand, spending some years min- m ing in Otago.
